Hi Matt,
I've had a similar problem.
I solved it by applying the latest fixes CRTR3INST, CRTR3SYS and KERNEL
and creating a new user profile '<sid><instanceno.>' on all systems.
The password is 'SAP<instanceno.>PWD'.

Hi

We are upgrading PRD from 3.1i to 4.6c (4.6D kernel). All the users are off
line. The upgrade dies at KX_SWITCH. We get the message

"Unable to RNMOBJ /usr/sap/P01/SYS/profile/start_dvembgs000 to
start_dvembgs000_narehlee"

When we try r3up -repeat the upgrade cancels.

We have tested this upgrade a few times and it worked great. So naturally it
fails when we do it for real.
I have this message at SAP and I am looking at various possible solutions.
In the mean time I wonder if anyone in the group has seen this ?
