Upgrade to V5R1 - Always read the latest n ote 392165!

Hi Jerry,

I understand you, but I'm sorry, that this is more or less the way it is.
You mightr want to write down the patch-level of the locales (in this case:
patch 4) that is described in the LOCALE.info. Then you know afterwards,
that it might be useful, to donwload new locales, if there is 5 or 6 out.

That there are 44 files out is just the normal case at SAP. It is the same
on all platforms. So, it might be best, if you would put the downloaded
patches in some directory or library and get new ones, as soon you see
higher patch numbers - or as soon as you detect problems.

Sorry,

Volker

Volker I do not understanding where SAP is going with how these
kernel patches and associated 'pieces' of the kernel are to be
handled. On the 46D kernel site there is the opportunity to download
44 separate files. To get a complete kernel update, do we have to do
44 downloads and APYR3FIX 43 times to the kernel that is downloaded
to be sure we have everything? If the latest kernel doesn't have the
latest 'locale' how do we tell what our 'locale' patch level is? How
do we tell when to patch what?
