Database refresh
Hi Marina,I always would recommend with problems of saplicense to drop the table MLICHECK
and the index over it first.
Then SAPLICENSE '-install' will create it again - and then in the correct way,
if it should be wrong before.
What does happen then ?

We are doing a database refresh for the first time and therefore followed OSS
note 36862.
Because the kernel is on level, We did not touch this library and did not use
the command
APYR3KRN.
The source SID (our PRD system) is on another AS/400 than the target SID and
the SID for the target is different than the source SID.
I can start up the system but cannot log in because not a valid license key is
installed.
However I encounter some difficulties in using my "old" license key, i.e. the
key we
previously installed for the copy we are refreshing at this moment.
When using the command 'saplicense install' the system gives the error MLICHECK
in R3<target-SID>DATA
not valid for operation.
When checking the installation number with 'saplicense number' reading the
installation number
fails.
When trying to install a temporary license key with 'saplicense temp' the
systems indicates
that it cannot read the profile parameter SAPSYSTEMNAME and that no temporary
license can be
installed because no old or expired license key was found.
Does any one have a idea of what we did wrong in the procedure ?
Our OS/400 is on V5R1. The kernel on 46D patch level 1251.
