SAP reorganization questions
Hi Volker,I have no problem with the reorganization of the DBSTAT* files, I know the
specific note and the cleanup of those files is regularaly scheduled in R/3.
I was just wondering if someone was using the data contained in the
DBSTATHDB4 as a basis for reorganization since the info about deleted record
is contained there as well. This way you could skip the DSPFD part and just
do a select on this file to extract the tables eligible for reorganization
and make it somewhat quicker.
regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,
what is your problem with DBSTAHDB4?
There is a note out, how to reduce the records there a lot. Then you could
use RGZPFM as well.
Regards
Volker

Subject: SAP reorganization questions
Hi,
Note 84081 about reorganizing SAP tables says that performing a
backup after the reorganization is even more important. Why is this?
What risks do you run if you only perform a backup before the
reorganization.
Does anyone have a script for the reorganization based on the
dbstathdb4 file? We have the normal one based on a DSPFD and a
deleted percentage, but it should also be possible to use the above
file.
Is there a big difference in runtime between batch and interactive
reorganisations?
