APO and 4.7 availability on iSeries
Hi Satid, yes, 4.7 or R/3 Enterprise IS available on iSeries - but in ASCII ONLY. This
means, that every customer below 4.6C has to upgrade to 4.6C first and can then
do the codepage conversion to ASCII and then upgrade to Enterprise. As the Core
of enterprise is 98% similar to 4.6C, the upgrade to enterprise will be a lot
cheaper than the upgrade to 4.6C. So, the customer should have a look for the
next 4.6C upgrade.
For the codepage conversion, you find information at:
http://www.4soi.de/CPC.htm
APO:
APO is available with the Database on iSeries since 3-6 months now. It is not
available with LiveCache and the application server on iSeries. This is because
liveCache only runs on NT or some Unix.
So, you will always need a 3-tier configuration with at least iSeries and
Windows. This will stay for the forseeable future like this.
Regards
Volker

Subject: APO and 4.7 availability on iSeries
Mr. Volker
One of my customer is interested in upgrading from its current 4.0B to
the new R/3 Enterprise (I believe U call it version 4.7). I wonder if
this version is available on iSeries yet ? if not, when ?
He also wants to know if a complete APO set of components can now run
on iSeries ? If not, when ?
Thank in advance.
