SXC 1.54
There is, indeed, a confusion over the gateway.This is an RFC destination of activation type 'registration'. This means
that the other application (SXC in this case) will start and attempt to
'register' itself with the SAP gateway. In a sense, it says 'I'm here and
I am available for any requests of type SXC'.
On one hand, the SAP system (in txn SM59) must define this RFC destination
with it's own gateway (gateway host and gateway service) and with the
program ID 'SXC'.
On the other hand, the SXC must know where to find the SAP gateway (same
gateway host and gateway service!) and must also announce its willingness
to handle requests for program ID 'SXC'.
That so-called program ID, by the way, is purely a convention between the
two parties.
As soon as the SXC has registered itself with the SAP gateway, the 'test'
function in txn SM59 should work.
