How many work processes are you currently running?

We have a "central" instance, a dialog instance, and a "batch" instance on
the same 840.

I think the biggest change was the "sendon" parameter, but in our case, we
were coming from a "distributed" 3-tier (740 and SB1's) to a "centralized"
3-tier (all on the same server).

We used to but I came on the team just as we changed so I do not have a lot
of experience with 3 Tier

This doesn't help your question - but weren't you running 3tier?

Subject: Application Server

Hi All,
We are currently running a 2-tier enviroment and due to the
amount of users (currently 3500 rising to around 5000 of which 1000
users will be concurrent) we are looking at potentialy putting a
application server on to make it 3 tier as there is a limitaion with
3.1I on number of work processes you can have, we are getting more
and more issues with the system freezing for short periods this
coincides with all the dialog wps being in use, we are also getting
the system log message "No free memory available in class PERM" and
wonder if this is anything to do with it, we have a 840 24 way with
40 gb of memory with a DB size of 570gb and are looking at putting
the app server on the same machine, is it as easy as following the
dialog installation procedure or are there other pitfalls we may
encounter, or is there another solution ?

Many Thanks

Chris Hinchcliffe
