Antwort: Installation of Win2000 Application Server with iSeries

Thanks Volker !!!

You're right with your suggestion that the DEFAULT profile should have
CCSID 819. I renamed DEFAULT.PFL (with CCSID500) and copied it with it's
original name with the new CCSID, then starting the application server and
try a first logon was successfully. Activation with RZ10 did not work.

Thanks again to all who gave me some feedback.

Axel.

Hi Axel,

sounds as if the NT-Server can't read the profiles. I suspect, that you
didn't do any changes since the codepage conversion with RZ10. Then they
are still in EBCDIC (CCSID 500) and can't be read.

I would suggest to check this manually beforehand with WRKLNK option 8 and
then try to activate with RZ10. This should create them in 819 (especially
the default profile).

Then it should work - the new CPC docu contains some after-steps to do
this there already.

Hope this helps,

Volker

P.S.: beginning of next week I'm at customer site.

Subject: Installation of Win2000 Application Server with
iSeries

Hi all,

I have some problems while installing a new Win2000 Application
Server with an iSeries R/3 46C SR2 system.

The R/3 system was converted from EBCDIC to ASCII last year,
we have a LATIN2 installation (languages DEH).

The installation process of Win2000 Application Server was done
without errors, but when we started it first the dispatcher ended some
seconds later. Error log from dev_disp:

trc file: "dev_disp", trc level: 1, release: "46D"

We do NOT use DNS here. TCP/IP hostname resolution works fine.

I can't get SAP Note 407621 right now to get more information about this
erros.

Has someone downloaded this note and can forward to me ?!?

Had someone else problems like this ?!? And how do I have to apply KERNEL
patches
for this Application Server (via IFS-directory /.../exe/run_nt ?!?

Thank in advance,

Axel.
