Content Repositories

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply. Did Mikasa install separate SAP Content Servers for
DEV, QAS, and PRD? I am assuming that each instance of SAP Content Server
must be installed on a separate NT server.

I see in the installation instructions that Content Server requires an R/3
4.5B or higher system, but it also indicates that 4.6C or higher is required
for administrative tasks (CSADMIN). Since we are at 4.6B does this mean we
cannot use Content Server or does it just mean that we must administer
Content Server outside of R/3?

Regards,
Stan

Hello Stan,
Setting up the SAP content server is fairly easy and the SAPDB database that
it uses is relatively easy to maintain. The content server is an ISAPI DLL
so it uses IIS as a mechanism for parsing HTTP requests and passing the
archivelink requests to the content server software for processing. One of
the nice things about the content server is the fact that you can also
install cache servers to help ease access of images acrossed a WAN.

I helped Mikasa set this up for archiving. It took just a few days to
finish.
Best regards,
Alan
