To add the VERS_AT_IMP parm to TPPARAM, is it as simple as changing it at
the AS/400 level by editing TPPARAM? If so, is it ok to do so with SAP up?

Thanks,
Christine

Hello Christine,

Here's some information out of note 172282:

" Normally the system performs a version creation step when importing
transport requests after the main import. If the VERS_AT_IMP parameter
is not set in the parameter file TPPARAM, every imported object is
marked as changed in the version management, and the imported request is
displayed in the version overview, for the active version of the object.
If the parameter has the value 'ALWAYS', the system generates a version
of every imported object in version management. This version has the
number of the imported request. "

This becomes important during an upgrade to be able to use SPDD and SPAU.
Versions are stored
in the database. If you replace the database during the refresh, the
versions are those of the
restored system.

The parameter is stored in TPPARAM.

Hi Gang,

Was wondering if anyone from the group uses version management controls via
TP? A consultant doing work for my employer said that there is a TP
parameter, "vers_at_imp", that can have a value of "always" so that whenever
transports are created, it will preserve versions during a system refresh.
I am planning on refreshing my TST instance this weekend with PRD data and
the above would be useful. If it is possible, how do I go about setting
that parameter up? I'm running 4.6C and have the latest R3TRANS and TP
patches loaded. According to some documentation that the consultant gave
me, this is controlled somewhere in the startup file???

Thanks,
Christine
