How to prevent update
Greetings !We are exploring the option of using EMC timefinder to make a clone
of the production DB daily. This clone DB will be used for both
backing up as well as for BW extraction and non-update reporting.
Now, my question is what measures can I take to prevent the clone DB
from being updated accidentally.
I have try to comment the vb and vb2 processes before I start up the
R/3. once log on, I also deactivate the update via SM13. However when
I try to create new user, although it complains that there is no
update server found for context:E, surprisingly the update was
captured in DB. Beside I also try to create a new client via SCC4 and
the entry also went through with the new client created successfully.
Have anyone had the similar kind of arrangement and how did you
manage to prevent it, thanks !
