backup server
Why do not try to solve your issue with a High Availability Solution, like asVision Solution? We have a similar configuration (two AS/400 830 machines in
different locations) and Vision assure the replication between these servers.
For more informations about Vision, see http:\\www.visionsulutions.com.
Hope this help.

Subject: backup server
Dear Friends
We are running SAP 4.6C version on our i-series server
It consists of 3 ASP - one containing LIC,R/3 executables,SQL packages,IFS etc
, second containg R/3 database library , third containing jornal receivers
Recently we have installed a backup server at remote location with same
configuration.
Initially the system has been build an entire system restore.
Now we need to replicate or refresh our backup server by sending data backup
tape to the remote site.
The remote site does not have any hot link for on-time data replication.
One and simple method would be to take database libraray backup daily and
overwrite on the backup server
But this method looks lengthy and time consuming
Another method could be to just send the Journals, restore on the backup
server and apply Journal changes
But we have never tried and tested it
Need your suggestions on any other way out or method to maintain consistency
between the 2 servers and keep data upto date.
Regards
Neeraj
