APYR3FIX on OS400 V5R2
Hi Berhanu,you can upgrade only an existing kernel library. so copy your current kernel lib
(R345BOPT I assume) to R345BNEW. Make sure that you have the correct base level
for the patch, otherwise you have to install a complete kernel from CD
(LODR3KRN). Don't forget FIXR3OWNS R345BNEW, authorisations are very important!
Check the userprofile of <sid>OFR for having *SECOFR-rights. Signon as <sid>OFR
and do EDTLIBL: Rename your current kernel lib entry from R345BOPT to R345BNEW
and then do the different patches. That is why you received the error message.
Do FIXR3OWNS R345BNEW between the single patches, especially before patching DW.

Hi Group,
I upgraded my OS400 from V4R5 to V5R2 , applied latest CUM PTF and applied APAR
II13337 PTFs.
Now I am trying to use APYR3FIX to upgrade the Kernel and am getting the error
"Please make sure that R345BNEW is
the only kernel library in your library list before applying patches." R345BNEW
is my new kernel library I am trying to create. When I remove the current kernel
from the library list I get an error that says APYR3FIX not found.
APYR3FIX is the latest I downloaded yesterday from Market place and used RSTOBJ
to put it into my current kernel
library as stated in note 495999.
What am I missing? I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
