Error SAP installation on iseries

Hi Sreedhar

I've just installed several 47 SR1 ASCII systems and made the copies
of the SAR files in the \tmp\<SID>\krn1 & krn2 directories first as
described in note 545634 as the V5R2M0 directories were not there.
Although as you point out, it is not mentioned in the SR1 note 597741.

I found that the installation worked fine with Java 1.4.2_02 on the
PC and 5722JV1 option 6 Java Developer Kit 1.4 on the iseries.
Make sure your Netserver TCP/IP server is running on the iSeries and
you have all the PTFs.
The central instance installation did hang at the Starting RFC jobs
step, but apparently this is "normal". You just have to close the
SAPINST and start the installation step again from Start>Programs as
described in the appendix in the install guide.

regards
Michael Power
