Error when installing an additional app server instance
We have installed and used a 2-tier R/3 system (SID = P11 instance no.= 11) in our production machine (820 4-way) for quite some times
now. Now we want to install an additional application server instance
for this P11 SID in our development machine (270 2-way) to help offload
some works from the production machine.
We follow the installation manual 51013700 (R/3 Installation: IBM
AS/400 (ASCII)) which indicates that we use DIALOG.R3S file. This new
instance will be no. 12. R3SETUP runs until the step CRTR3INST SID
(P11) INST(12) ROLE(*APP) CCSID(819) when it fails with a
message "SAP0273 No central instance found for system P11".
We search SAP notes and find that we should run CRTSAPUSR USER
(*SIDINST) SID(P11) INSTANCE(12) on the production machine. We did
this but still get the same error.
Could anyone who ever installed an app server instance like this help
suggest what we should do to make this installation successful ?
