Question on patches for new EXT kernel
I just upgraded our development/test AS400 server (840) from V5R1 toV5R2. At the same time, I switched to the new EXT kernel hoping to
see some added performance even though we are not running on the
POWER4 technology. In OSS note 392165 (iseries-known problems under
V5R1M0/V5R2M0) it lists several patches to apply to fix problems
after doing an OS upgrade. These patches include R3SETUP, DBINCON,
CRTR3SYS, CRTR3INST, and STRSAP. Do I still need to apply these
patches if I am using the new EXT kernel - 51020587? I would hate to
backlevel objects in the kernel by applying these patches.
