damaged SAP object
Hi Russ,I had the same thing happen to me a while back. I opened a problem ticket
with both SAP and IBM to try and resolve it and make sure the recovery plan
was approved by both since I was dealing with the production system. In the
end I followed the procedures outlined in the IBM Backup & Recovery manual
for recovering from a damaged object. I identified the physical and logical
files affected, deleted them, restored them from the prior full save then
applied the journal changes to the file to bring it up to date. Other than
for the system downtime it wasn't a very complicated recovery but then again
I was dealing with a relatively simple set of objects to restore.

Subject: damaged SAP object
Recently a SAP object in our data library has become damaged. The
file name is BDLDATCOL. We have not seen any problems on the system
with this other than when we run our nightly backup it states it
cannot back up the object because it is damaged. I am wondering what
is the best procedure to fix this situation? Has anyone else run
into damaged objects in their SAP database?
Kind regards,
Russ Cook
