Performance on 46C

We are on a new iSeries 825 with 3 cpu's and 6gb ram 450gb disk and our
performance is very poor at times. We are still in development with data loads
going
on but there are only 30 people on the system. The network people say its the
AS/400 and the AS400 people say its the network. Maybe it's both.
On the AS/400 I show very little usage when I look at the usual commands:
WRKACTJOB, WRKSYSSTS, WRKDSKSTS. Disk usage 60-63%.
When I display the joblog for one of the SAP sessions using the green screen I
see the following:

Duplicate key value specified.
Duplicate record key in member ALCLASTOOL.
Duplicate key on access path.
Duplicate key on access path.
Duplicate key value specified.
Prepared statement IUYAAA3FCA not found.
Prepared statement IRyAAAdGBA not found.
Duplicate record key in member TPLOG.
Duplicate key on access path.
Duplicate key on access path.
Duplicate key value specified.

Thousands of records in the 24 sessions that are running, Dialogue, batch,
spool, etc.

Can this be a problem? Can I look somewhere else for the problem?

Thanks,

Hi Des,

unfortunately you "downgraded" your system in terms of performance
per CPU. As 4.6C needs a lot longer on the CPU, the CPU times have
increased a lot. On same hardware it is nearly factor 2 and you
downsized the hardware and therefore see slower times.

Sorry, but an 4.6C system was not designed for an S30 ...
For new SAP releases you always need newer and therefore FASTER CPUs
in order to have a useful responsetime per user even when the system
may be large enough in order to support the workload.

Regards

Volker
