Problems with 4.6D EXT-Kernel patches
Hi Group,2 issues with the Kernel patches have been tracked down in last couple of days,
so I just wanted to inform you.
1. Problem starting SAP after applying patch DW-1728: signature error on strsap.
The MLSO* programs were not delivered on the original kernel CD (Patch Level
1694) but were subsequently made available via the ML
patch on the service marketplace. Customers who installed all the patches
prior to the installation of DW-1728 will have experienced no
problems, but anybody who had not installed the ML patch will see an error
in APYR3FIX (program not found), which causes the job to end
prematurely. The result is that none of the programs following the failing
command will have been rebound. This includes strsap.
The problem has been fixed for subsequent patch levels. For patch level
1728, customers should ensure that at least the ML-patch has
been installed prior to the installation of DW-1728.
2. Patches with Target release V5R2M0 : the affected patches DW-1728 /EBCDIC
and ASCII) and SAPCCM4X_1/ SAPCM3X_1 (EBCDIC
only) have been removed from the market place and replaced with corrected
versions dated Feb. 5th.
