Memory restrictions?
Greetings!We have a consultant onsite who brought in an SAP tool to do reverse business
engineering, in order to help us more fully document our 4.6C system, running on
V5R1M0.
The RBE tool apparently does some type of extract, pulling together statistics
from the performance monitor as well as some master and transaction files.
We've tried to run it on both our TST and PRD systems, and both times it failed
with TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED. Both times, it was reading a combination of
VBRK and VBRP. VBRK has 686,624 records and VBRP has 7,635,727 records. The
dump says that it ran out of room trying to extend an internal table with
4,887,427 records in it.
Storage information in the dump shows the following:

It says that I should check these parameters:
ztta/roll_area (16,773,120)
ztta/roll_extension (2,000,000,000)
abal/heap_area_total (2,000,000,000)
abap/heap_area_dia (2,000,000,000)
abap/heap_area_nondia (2,000,000,000)
em/initial_size_MB (8,192)
Do I have any more options? There are date constraints on the extract program,
but I believe that only limits the amount of performance data that is analyzed.
It looks like our lack of archiving is finally catching up with us.
Any help would be appreciated!
