Variants gone after upgrade
Hello, Thomas.I implemented note 626408. Our DEV and TST systems are already on
4.6C, so I applied the first part of the note to our PRD system and
exported/saved the variants in their 3.1I version. I then applied
the second part of the note to our TST system and imported the
variants that had been saved from PRD. Our TST system is/was a DB
copy of PRD, so all the programs, etc. were the same. The process
should then have worked the same as if it had all been done on the
same system. The variants now seem to exist for most of the
programs/reports, but the variant data is really messed up - to the
point that you can't even edit the variant. The system just informs
you that the variant is not the active version and then exits the
transaction. The response is that we have to delete the variant(s)
and recreate them, which doesn't help us at all. We were hoping this
variant restoration tool would keep all the variant data and simply
allow us to enter data where there was something missing, e.g. new
selection parameter on the screen.
Any ideas?
