Code Page Conversion

How many users are on the 830 with 2 cpu's and 4GB ram? How is performance? We
have a newer 825 with 2cpu's and 4gb RAM. Were still in development so
I do not know what this can handle. It is an 825 (LPAR) 2 cpu's amd 4gb ram and
production and the same on DEV/QAS.

Hi Teoh,

My last CPC at the customer side with DB size of 80 GB on a 830 (LPAR) 2 CPU
with 4 GB of main storage took me 3 days:

- 1 day preparation
- 1 day export and import (including some time in the night)
- 1 day post-processing

If I had worked over night, then I would have been quicker, but it was not
necessary.

I used the Inplace conversion and it was running fine. Compared with the
Export/Inport strategy the Inplace conversion is much easier and safer. I
used the Export/Import in the past when doing OS/DB migrations.

Hi Guys,

Is anybody have any benchmarking on the Code Page conversion for 46CSR2?
Anyone experience on this CPC how long does it takes for the whole exercise
be it inplace or export import strategy? I am having the 830 8way with 16GB
memory with DB size of 250GB. Thanks in advance for the info.
