Code Page Conversion

Regarding performance: The 825 2-way should be roughly 2 times faster
(compared to an 830 2 way) from everything that I've read.

Regarding Codepage conversion times, I did a dry run upgrade on an
820 4-way with a database of about 800 gig (PRD copy). The entire
conversion process (no pre-processing/post processing or think time)
took around 30 hours. The times are heavily influenced by the amount
of data in your largest cluster/pool tables and also by your largest
transparent table.

The server had 2 terabytes of disk, 12 gig of ram. There was also a
46C Dev (ascii), a bw 30B development, a 620 solution manager and a
non-sap HR system running on it at the time.

After factoring in the deleted rows that were "re-orged" during the
conversion, the actual database growth was about 67% .

Craig.
