upgrade from 4.0C(EBCDIC) to 4.6B(ASCII)?
Hello Ibrahim,an SAP release upgrade itself does not change the codepage your system is
running in. So if you upgrade from 4.0B to 4.6B the system will remain in
EBCDIC.
Before you could upgrade to SAP R/3 Enterprise or higher a codepage conversion
from EBCDIC to ASCII needs to be done. Although it is possible to convert 4.6B
systems (under restrictions as described in note 599700) release 4.6C is the
preferred release for the codepage conversion.
I would recommend to upgrade to 4.6C instead of 4.6B if this is possible on your
site.

Hi,
We have an SAP R/3 4.0C system running on iSeries model 825 with
OS/400 5.2.
Is it possible to upgrade the this system from 4.0C(EBCDIC) to 4.6B
(ASCII)or I have to upgrade 4.6B(EBCDIC) then to 4.6B(ASCII)?
