ASP + Shark
What about the recommendation from SAP using 2 ASP's and use mirroringprotection for the 2nd ASP? Is it the same with the performance?
I have seen this recommendation in many GoingLive Checks in the past. I have
set-up all the AS/400 with 2 ASP's during my last 7 years - some of them
with mirroring and some with RAID-5 - but many times I was thinking to
create only one ASP...

Hi Jürgen,
the official recommendation is still to use 2 ASPs. But, I would use
only 1 ASP any more. The Shark uses at least RAID-5 protection. So, a
disk-data loss is pretty unlikely.
As a small ASP2 with only 1-2 disks is known to be VERY slow in all
circumstances where mass updates are running (e.g. client-copy,
client-delete, etc.) I would go for 1 ASP only.
But the decision needs to be done on your site.
