Performance problems after upgrade V5R2 and 46C
Savas -Are you running weekly "Early Watch Alerts"? It is a free service as
long as you are on maintenance. If you were to compare your Alert from
a month ago vs. now, it would pinpoint where to begin.
Below is an example of some performance indicators included in the
weekly Alert Report
The following table shows the relevant performance indicators in various
system areas.

Subject: Performance problems after upgrade V5R2 and 46C
Hello,
We have first upgraded our production machine's OS/400 from V5R1 to
V5R2.
We have noticed small performance lose.
One week after that, we have upgraded SAP R/3 from 46B to 46C. Until
then
our production machine's performance is going down. Workload is not
changed.
Dialog response time from this week: 1900 ms.
We have scheduled a "remote performance optimization session" with SAP
today.
I know 4.6C needs more power than 46B but I want to get your opinions
about
this issue. Production is running on 830 with 8 CPU, 8GB memory, 1,2 TB
harddisk (47 % is used). About 200 users are logged on. We are busy with
the user community to change their way of using the system, as not
scheduling heavy jobs during daytime or using frozen data for their
reports. But it will take more time to get a result from that corner.
My question is: how can we get performance back, more memory, more CPU
or
both?
Best regards,
Savas Ertugrul
