Thanks Volker,
My system is consistent according to transaction sick. But this error "Unable to
determin DB and SAP version" is preventing
me from even reruning PREPARE. The error is now in DBCHK_PRE phase. What else
can I check to see what the problem is. I deleted directory /PUT and libraries
R3up and R3up3x before I started prepare. I have tp patch 911 and r3trans patch
910 on
the source suytem 45B. The other error I see in slog is "tp getdbinfo TST
failed".
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Berhanu,

yes, very easy:
Restore the system consistent!
Just restore the /usr/sap/put from that stage as well. Otherwise, I
would say, the backup is just worthless in this situation.

Good luck,

Volker

the begining I restored the database, the kernel and R3up libraries
and /usr/sap/put/* and /usr/sap/SID/* directories. R3 starts up ok
as the source system 4.5B. When I restart the upgrade to 4.6C it
errors out at DBCHK with "Unable to determin DB and SAP version".
The backup from which I am restoring is taken after completion of
PREPARE. Is there anything else I have to restore to correct this
challenge?
