ASP Change on Restore

This would be true:

I believe I should be able to simply restore the database
collections to ASP1 and change the following configuration file for
each system: /usr/sap/trans/config/<SID>/SYSTEM.CFG (set db4/dbasp =
01).

I don't believe any further changes would be necessary.

Subject: ASP Change on Restore

Hi all,

We will be upgrading our hardware next week. I will need to do a
save/restore to the new box. Our database libraries are currently
installed in user ASP3 (compressed), including our DEV and QS2
systems. Since we won't be compressing the disk on the new system,
I was planning to restore all libraries to the system ASP.

I believe I should be able to simply restore the database
collections to ASP1 and change the following configuration file for
each system: /usr/sap/trans/config/<SID>/SYSTEM.CFG (set db4/dbasp =
01).

Is this the only change I need to make? Or, are there others?

Or, must I delete and recreate these systems, reinstalling them to
ASP1 and then restoring the database from tape (similar to a
refresh)?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards,
Mike D. Martin
