Hi,I don't know who told, that you would need a MSG-Server for calling
*PGMs on the other site, but it is totally wrong!
First of all:
You defenetely do NOT need any further license, because every
custoemr can create as many RFC programs as he like!
If you want to start from within your R3 system on NT or whereever a
program on AS/400, then you need a gateway on AS/400 - that is
correct. This can be installed very easy, but is ONLY necessary, if
R3 tries to start something on the AS/400 site.
If you just want to connect to R/3 and put some data there it is not
necessary. If you register your AS/400 RFC program in the NT R3,
there is no Gateway necessary as well.
I think, you need some consulting in this area - especially as the
creation of the RFC Program on iSeries gets a bit more complex than
the setup things by now. Perhaps I could help you there more in
detail.
