In a multilevel variant configuration, the explosion of BOMs is suppressed for externally procured components. There is no business reason for this. The purpose is to improve system performance for the explosion.
Customer-Exit EXIT_SAPLCUKO_008 lets you suppress the BOM explosion for externally procured components, which may improve system performance.
