If the exit is activated, it is called whenever a material master IDoc (message type ARTMAS) is posted or whenever the BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT is called.
Include LXMGVF07 contains sample code showing how the data can be processed within the exit.
The code in EXAMPLE1 describes the transfer of customer-specific fields from the corresponding BAPI/IDoc structure PLANTEXT or PLANTEXTX to the assigned internal structure MARC if only customer-specific fields with data type CHAR are used.
The code in EXAMPLE2 describes the transfer of customer-specific fields from the corresponding BAPI/IDoc structure PLANTEXT or PLANTEXTX to the assigned internal structure MARC if customer-specific fields with numeric data type are also used.
If a serious error is detected during processing, the exception APPLICATION_ERROR can be triggered in conjunction with error message MG554 to prevent the data transferred from being updated.
