EXIT_SAPLEHSS_001 -

ESS transactions for maintaining HR data include an 'exit module' option that enables you to determine whether an activity (change or delete) is allowed for a data record.

If you use this option, the exit module is executed when you choose 'Change' or 'Delete'. Its import parameters are the infotype, the start date of the record to be modified, the employee's 'accounted to' date, the operation to be executed, and the infotype's time constraint. Data is only written to the return structure as an export parameter if an error occurs, that is, if the activity is not allowed. If the activity is allowed, data is not written to the return structure.

To avoid subsequent retroactive accounting runs, the 'accounted to' date can be compared with the start date of the record to be modified. Each infotype may require the change logic to be used differently.
