Invalid function name in DEF statement

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : A syntax error was found in the statement. A DEF statement was entered that contains an invalid function name. The function name can be up to 40 characters long. It must begin with FN and be followed by an alphabetic character, followed by alphanumeric characters. If the function returns a character value the function name must end in a dollar sign.
Recovery . . . : Correct the function name in the DEF statement.
