Controller &24 on line &23 not contacted. XID retry limit reached. (C G R)

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The exchange identifier (XID) sequence could not be completed successfully within the specified retry limit. The configuration may not compare with that of the remote system.
Recovery . . . : Do the following:
-- For synchronous data link control (SDLC), use the Work with Line Description (WRKLIND) command to verify that the line description is correct, especially the role (ROLE parameter).
-- Use the Work with Controller Description (WRKCTLD) command to verify that the controller description is correct, especially the station address (STNADR parameter), the exchange identifier (EXCHID parameter) and the role (ROLE parameter).
-- Contact the remote system operator to verify that the remote system is operational.
Then do one of the following:
-- Type C to cancel recovery and to inform any applications that are waiting for an operation that the recovery has been canceled.
-- Type G to start the automatic communications recovery again as defined by the communications recovery limit (CMNRCYLMT) for line &23.
-- Type R to try the operation one more time.
If the problem continues, report the problem (ANZPRB command).
Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel.
G -- Start automatic recovery again.
R -- Try again one more time.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The error log identifier is &22. The XID is &41.
The error code is &40: The XID retry limit was reached.
