Cause . . . . . : The system is trying to make a connection over a switched line. The probable causes of the problem are:
-- Remote system not answering or the wrong number is being called.
-- Telephone line not operational or not connected to the modem.
-- Local hardware problem.
Recovery . . . : Do the following:
-- Verify that the remote system is operational and that the switched connection number (CNNNBR parameter) in the line description is correct.
-- Verify that the telephone line is operational and is connected to the modem.
If the problem continues, press F14 to run problem analysis.
Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel the dial attempt to the X.25 network and all logical calls waiting for the connection. Applications and subsystems waiting for an operation are informed that the logical call has been canceled.
N -- Cancel the dial operation to the X.25 network using line &23 and attempt to complete the pending logical calls. Depending on values specified for the switched line list (SWTLINLST) and the switched line selection (SWTLINSLCT) parameters configured in each controller description, the system may choose a different line description to complete the call.
R -- Try the operation one more time when line &23 is available.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The error log identifier is &22.
The error code is &40: An automatic call unit tried to place a call. A remote station connect time-out occurred. This error is usually caused by the remote station failing to establish the connection by answering the call (bringing up DTR). Error codes and their meanings follow:
42001430 -- The IOP Licensed Internal Code failed to detect the DSR signal within the requested time.
42001432 -- If the automatic call unit is a V.25 connection, the disconnect signal was on prior to attempting the call, or the IOP Licensed Internal Code failed to detect the disconnect within the requested time. If the automatic call unit is a V.25 bis connection, the IOP Licensed Internal Code failed to detect the drop of the CTS signal and the rise of the DSR signal within the requested time after all the dialing digits have been transmitted.
