Controller &24 failed. Remote time-out. (C G R)

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The remote controller was polled; however, no response was received. The probable causes are:
-- The controller description may not be configured correctly.
-- The remote modem is powered off.
-- The remote controller is powered off.
-- A network problem.
-- A local hardware problem.
-- A local modem problem.
Recovery . . . : Do one or more of the following:
-- Use the Display Controller Description (DSPCTLD) and the Display Line Description (DSPLIND) commands to display the appropriate configuration parameters. Verify that the station address (STNADR parameter) in the controller description and modem rate (MODEMRATE), idle timer (IDLTMR), and the non-return-to-zero-inverted (NRZI) parameters in the line description are correct. Also verify that the exchange identifier is configured correctly. If &24 is a HOST controller the exchange identifier is configured in the controller description (LCLEXCHID parameter). Otherwise the exchange identifier is configured in the line description (EXCHID parameter).
Have the remote system operator determine if any problem exists at the remote system that would cause this problem.
Then reply to the message.
If the problem continues, press F14 to run problem analysis.
Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel recovery and inform any applications that are waiting for an operation that the recovery has been canceled.
G -- Start the automatic communications recovery again as defined by the communications recovery limit (CMNRCYLMT) configured for line &23.
R -- Try the operation one more time.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The error log identifier is &22.
The error code is &40: An idle time-out was received when the remote system was in normal disconnect mode (NDM), or in normal response mode (NRM).
