Current length of varying-length string invalid.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The current length of the varying-length character or bit string variable is either less than zero, or greater than the maximum possible string length. If any value is displayed for the variable, it is shortened to the length of the available space.
Recovery . . . : You can use the CHGPGMVAR command to change the value and length of the varying-length string and try the command again.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : If the current length is less than zero, a zero-length string is displayed. If the current length is greater than the maximum, the maximum string length is displayed. This error can occur if the variable is displayed before its value is set in the high-level language program, or if the basing pointer for the string is not set correctly.
