Cause . . . . . : The key fields that you have selected have a total length greater than 1995 bytes. If you selected fields that are:

Type of field: Null/Not Null Key size:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Single-byte character set:
Variable-length character Not Null As is
Variable-length character Null Length + 3
Fixed-length Character Null Length + 1

Double-byte character set:
Variable-length Open, Only, Not Null As is
Either
Variable-length Open, Only, Null Length + 3
Either
Fixed-length Open, Only, Null Length + 1
Either

Graphic Not Null (Length * 2)
Variable-length Graphic Not Null (Length * 2)
Graphic Null (Length * 2) + 1
Variable-length Graphic Null (Length * 2) + 3

Note: The additional bytes added to the fields' length are not shown in the length column.
Recovery . . . : Do one of the following:
-- Select a set of key fields that have a total length of 1995 bytes or less.
-- Change the key order attribute. Then you may select a set of key fields that have a total length of 2000 bytes or less.
