Database files are affected.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : You are attempting to change, to delete, or to rename a definition that is linked to a database file or is used by a file definition that is linked to a database file. That definition cannot be changed, deleted, or renamed.
Recovery . . . : If the database file is program-described, use the Link Data Definition (LNKDTADFN) command to unlink the file. Changes made to the definition might result in a definition that has characteristics that are different than the characteristics of the file. This would prevent you from linking the file to the definition again.
If the database file is externally described, the operation cannot be completed unless the file is deleted.
