Cause . . . . . : You are attempting to run a command which requires that one or more directory files cannot be open for update. If you are trying to create search data for the system distribution directory, another process has files QAOKL03A, QAOKLXDA, QAOKL9XA or QAOKLSRA in library QUSRSYS open for update. Use the Work with Object Locks (WRKOBJLCK) command to determine which job has these files locked.
If you are trying to add, change or remove user-defined fields, another process has the file QAOKLSRA in library QUSRSYS open for update. Use the Work with Object Locks (WRKOBJLCK) command to determine which job has this file locked. You may need to press F6 to work with member locks.
Recovery . . . : After you have determined which jobs have the necessary files locked, either wait for those jobs to end or cancel those jobs. Releasing the locks on these files could involve ending the QSNADS subsystem (ENDSBS) or using End Directory Shadowing (ENDDIRSHD) to end the jobs.
