Message : CPF2697
The request did not complete in the time allotted.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : A system job did not finish performing the request before the job default wait time ended.
Recovery . . . : The following recovery actions should be done in the order indicated until the problem is solved:
1) Display the object or its status to determine if the request completed. If the request completed, no further action is required.
2) Try the request again. If the time-out occurs again, either wait for system activity to decrease or increase the job's default wait time value (CHGJOB command) and try the request again. Changing the default job wait time has no effect if you are deallocating an optical resource.
3) If the VRYCFG command was being used to vary on a tape or diskette device, display the QSYSOPR message queue (DSPMSG command). Look for messages at the beginning of the message queue that indicate equipment was removed or failed, and do the recovery action specified in those messages.
If the device description specifies a message queue (MSGQ parameter) other than QSYSOPR, also look for messages in that message queue.
If the problem continues for tapes, vary on the tape device (VRYCFG command) specifying *YES for reset (RESET parameter). Use F10 (additional parameters) on the prompt display to change the RESET parameter.
4) It may be necessary to display the system history log (DSPLOG command) to determine the cause of the command time-out. Correct the problem and try the request again.
5) Display the device description (DSPDEVD command) to determine which system job has allocated the device. Then display the system job's job log (DSPJOBLOG command) to determine the cause of the command time-out. Correct the problem and try the request again.
