Cause . . . . . : The from-file label identifier &3 in file &1 in library &2 is not a valid member name for the system. One of the following conditions must be met:
-- The name must be 1-10 characters. The surrounding quotation marks are optional. The first character must be alphabetic: any letter (A-Z), and special characters such as a dollar sign, a pound sign, and an at sign. The remaining characters may include any of the following: any letter (A-Z), any number (0-9), and special characters such as a period, a dollar sign, a pound sign, an underscore, and an at sign.
-- The name must be 1-8 characters, surrounded by quotation marks. Any character that can be displayed (greater than '3F'X) is allowed within the quotation marks except for '40'X (blank), '5C'X (asterisk), '6F'X (question mark), '7D'X (apostrophe), '7F'X (quotation mark), and 'FF'X (control character).
Recovery . . . : Specify a to-file member name on the TOMBR parameter, and then try the request again.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : When the system converts a from-file label to a to-file member name during a copy operation, it uses the last 10 characters that appear before all consecutive blanks at the right. For example,
OPQRSTUVWXYZ would become QRSTUVWXYZ
OPQRSTUVWXYZ followed by blanks would become QRSTUVWXYZ
XXXXX.ABCD.EFGHI.12345 would become FGHI.12345
If the last 10 characters that appear before all consecutive blanks at the right is not a valid name, the system uses the characters that are to the right of the last period in these characters. For example, XXXXX.ABCDEF*.YYYYY would become YYYYY because DEF*.YYYYY is not a valid name.
