Message : CPF8B28
Token-ring line &23 beaconing. Recovery in process.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The following information may be helpful for problem analysis:
Ring state: &40
Beacon type: &41
Beaconing adapter address: &42
Nearest active upstream neighbor (NAUN) of beaconing adapter: &43
Removed adapter address 1: &44
Removed adapter address 2: &45
See the Technical Description for more information on this error.
Recovery . . . : The token ring is trying to recover from a beaconing condition through built-in recovery procedures. These procedures may include the beaconing adapter and its NAUN removing themselves from the token ring during the recovery process.
If beaconing continues, the temporary error will become a permanent error reported through messages CPF8B31, CPF8B32, or CPF8B33. After the problem has been manually corrected, beaconing stops and message CPF8B35 is issued indicating that the token ring has recovered.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : Additional information:
Ring state is &40.
-- 0000: Normal.
-- 0002: Temporary beaconing. A temporary beaconing condition was detected and this REM does not support the tower function to query the fault domain stations after temporary beaconing.
-- 0006: Permanent beaconing. The ring has been in a beaconing condition for longer than the permanent-error detection timer.
Beacon type is &41.
-- 0001: Set recovery mode.
-- 0002: Signal loss detected.
-- 0003: Monitor contention failed. No contention frames received.
-- 0004: Monitor contention failed. Contention frames received.
Beaconing adapter address is &42.
-- Medium access control (MAC) address of the adapter that is sending beacon MAC frames.
NAUN of beaconing adapter is &43.
-- MAC address of the NAUN of the adapter that is sending beacon MAC frames.
Removed adapter address 1 is &44.
Removed adapter address 2 is &45.
-- MAC addresses of adapters in the beacon error domain that removed themselves as part of the token-ring automatic recovery process.
