Message : CPI0954
Storage limit exceeded for ASP &1.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : All available storage in auxiliary storage pool (ASP) &1 has been used. This is a serious system condition. Objects created in ASP &1 have overflowed into the system ASP. If the system ASP is unprotected and a device failure occurs in the system ASP, data from ASP &1 will be lost. This message will be repeated until the overflow condition no longer exists.
Recovery . . . : The amount of storage used by ASP &1 must be reduced. If all the overflowed objects are removed, the system will automatically reset the overflow condition, and no IPL is required. If the overflowed objects cannot be removed, space must be made available on ASP &1, and an IPL is required.
To recover from the overflow condition without an IPL, remove all the overflowed objects by doing the following:
-- Identify the overflowed objects by using the Display
Object Description (DSPOBJD) command.
-- Delete any overflowed objects that are not needed.
-- Save the remaining overflowed objects by specifying
STG(*FREE) on the Save Object (SAVOBJ) command.
To make space available on ASP &1 and recover the overflow condition during IPL, do the following:
-- Use the System Service Tools (SST) to check the amount
of storage used and the amount of storage overflowed
for ASP &1.
-- Delete any objects that are not needed.
-- Save objects by specifying STG(*FREE) on the SAVOBJ
command.
-- When there is enough storage available in ASP &1 to
contain the overflowed amount, perform an IPL of
of the system with the keylock in the Manual position.
During the IPL, the Recover Overflowed User ASPs display
allows you to request overflow recovery for ASP &1.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : Objects have overflowed into the system ASP. If the overflowed objects are removed, the system will automatically reset the overflow condition. If it cannot be determined which objects have overflowed, the user must make space available on ASP &1 and IPL the system again with the keylock in the Manual position. When the user requests recovery of the overflow condition for ASP &1, the system will move the overflowed objects from the system ASP into ASP &1.
For additional information on ASP management, see the Recovering your system book, SC41-5304.
