Line &23 failed - LEC join failure.
Message Long Text :
Cause . . . . . : The LAN Emulation Client (LEC) on line &23 received a join failure message from the LAN Emulation Server (LES). The LEC cannot connect with the LES. The error code is &40.
Recovery . . . :
For error codes 1EC08B01 and 1EC08E01, change the MAXFRAME parameter in line description &23 to a value that is acceptable to the LES. See the MAXFRAME parameter on the Change Line Description (Token-Ring Network) (CHGLINTRN) command for a valid value. Vary off the line, change the parameter in line description &23, then vary the line on again. Contact the provider of the LAN Emulation Server (LES) or your IBM service representative.
For error codes 1EC08A01, contact the provider of the LAN Emulation Server (LES).
For other error codes, try changing the ADPTADR parameter in line description &23 to a value that is acceptable to the LES. See the ADPTADR parameter on the Change Line Description (Token-Ring Network) (CHGLINTRN) command or the Change Line Description (Ethernet) (CHGLINETH) command for a valid value. If the parameter is not correct, vary off the line, change the parameter in line description &23, then vary the line on again.
If the configuration parameter is correct, the problem may be in the LAN Emulation Server. Contact the provider of the LAN Emulation Server (LES) or your IBM service representative.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The LAN Emulation Client (LEC) sent a join request to the LAN Emulation Server and the request failed. Recovery may be possible by changing a configuration parameter in the line description. If changing the line description does not eliminate the error; the problem may be in the LAN Emulation Server.
Error codes and their meanings are:
1EC08401 -- The LEC is using a LAN address that has already been registered in the emulated LAN.
1EC08501 -- The LEC is using an ATM address that has already been registered.
1EC08901 -- The LEC is using a LAN address that is not valid.
1EC08A01 -- The ATM address format used by the LEC does not match the address format used by the LES. The IBM i cannot connect with this LES.
1EC08B01 -- The LEC is using a maximum frame size that is too large for this emulated LAN.
1EC08E01 -- The LEC is using a maximum frame size that is not supported on this emulated LAN.
