Message : CPI593B
Controller &24 failed. Probable network configuration problem.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : There are multiple controller descriptions with the same network identifier (RMTNETID parameter) and the same remote control point name (RMTCPNAME parameter) which are varied on and have inconsistent multiple transmission group (TG) support indicators. This was detected during XID.
Recovery . . . : Use the VRYCFG command to vary controller &24 off. Have the remote system operator determine if there is a problem at the remote system that would cause this failure. Correct the problem, and then vary controller &24 on again.
If the problem continues, report the problem (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The error code is &40.
The error codes and their meanings follow:
CCCC1001 -- The remote system changed from multiple TG support to single TG support.
CCCC1002 -- The remote system which indicated single TG support had another TG attempting to be connected.
The possible causes follow:
Multiple controller descriptions with the same RMTNETID and RMTCPNAME were used for parallel TGs, however there are multiple adjacent systems in the network that are using the same network identifier and CP name. This network identifier and CP name pair must be unique within the network.
The single remote system that is represented by multiple controller descriptions with the same RMTNETID and RMTCPNAME should actually be represented with different RMTCPNAMEs. The remote system could be an IBM i that has multiple APPC controllers varied on. One or more of these controllers is configured with APPN specified as *YES and the NODETYPE parameter is either *ENDNODE, *NETNODE, or *CALC. Another controller is configured with APPN specified as *NO or APPN specified as *YES and NODETYPE specified as *LENNODE. For this latter case, change the remote system's controller to APPN (*YES) and the NODETYPE to something other than *LENNODE. If the remote system's controller needs to indicate APPN (*NO), then change the local system's matching controller description to either APPN (*NO), or APPN (*YES), NODETYPE (*LENNODE), and supply a different RMTCPNAME to represent it.
Refer to the APPN information in the Networking category in the IBM i Information Center book, http://www.ibm.com/systems/i/infocenter/, for more information on the use of the RMTNETID, RMTCPNAME, and the NODETYPE parameters.
