Cause . . . . . : The number of errored seconds has exceeded the threshold value given by the system. One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- The environment may be electrically noisy.
-- The ISDN line quality may be poor.
-- Contact problems with the ISDN cable connectors.
-- Improper termination of the ISDN cables.
-- The remote physical interface is failing.
Recovery . . . : You can run problem analysis to report the problem. Your physical line may or may not be operational. Refer to planning guides for information about electrical requirements and noise problem considerations. Check that the correct cable part number is installed. Check that the cable is securely connected to the appropriate receptacles and the cable is in good physical condition. Consult your local ISDN network provider to have the line tested to verify line quality. The threshold function may be turned off or the threshold parameter may be changed to reduce the frequency of reports in the interim.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : A sufficient number of errored seconds have occurred to cause the error counter to exceed the threshold limit. The threshold value is sent via a command to the DLC program and changed by the DLC program. The errored second counter is incremented in each time period of one second when an error is detected by the physical interface. An overflow of this counter value indicates a significant degradation in line quality.
