Cause . . . . . : One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- The local modem options for data-set-ready (DSR) may be set incorrectly.
-- The environment may be electrically noisy.
-- The modem may not be properly grounded.
-- The telephone line quality may be poor.
Recovery . . . : You may choose to ignore this message because your line is operational. If you are not satisfied with the operation of your communications equipment, verify that your modem is configured correctly for data-set-ready (DSR). Refer to the IBM Systems Hardware Information Center Planning information for information about electrical requirements and noise problem considerations. A noisy telephone line may be causing your problem. Consult the local telephone company to have the line tested to verify line quality. The threshold function may be turned off or changed in the threshold (THRESHOLD) parameter on the CRTLINSDLC command. To report the problem, start problem analysis (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The data-set-ready (DSR) error has occurred many times and caused a threshold error. Data-set-ready is presented by the data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE/modem) to indicate that a through connection to the remote (called) DCE or data terminal equipment (DTE) has been established. If DSR is not found in the expected condition, it is said to be in error.
