Message : CPI8EBC
Line &23 threshold information.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- The remote equipment operator may be keying break characters.
-- The remote equipment may have sent enough breaks to exceed the threshold.
-- The modem may not be properly grounded.
-- The telephone line quality may be poor.
Recovery . . . : You may choose to ignore this message because your line is operational, or if you have been successful in establishing a switched connection. Consult the modem manufacturer to determine the proper grounding technique to use. Consult the local telephone company to have the line tested to verify line quality. The threshold function may be turned off or changed in the threshold (THRESHOLD) parameter on the CRTLINASC command. To report the problem, start problem analysis (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The number of breaks received from the line or remote equipment exceeded the threshold specified by the THRESHOLD value in the CRTLINASC command. A break is defined as the transmission of a space condition for several character times for at least 100 ms. This condition is often caused by a remote terminal user pressing the break key on an Async terminal, and is not necessarily an error.
