Cause . . . . . : One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- The local modem options for data-set-ready (DSR) may be set incorrectly.
-- The environment may be electrically noisy.
-- The modem may not be properly grounded.
-- The telephone line quality may be poor.
Recovery . . . : You may choose to ignore this message because your line is operational. If you are not satisfied with the operation of your communications equipment, verify your modem is configured correctly for data-set-ready (DSR). Refer to the IBM Systems Hardware Information Center Planning information for information about electrical requirements and noise problem considerations. Consult the modem manufacturer to determine the proper grounding technique to use. Consult the local telephone company to have the line tested to verify line quality. The threshold function may be turned off or changed in the threshold (THRESHOLD) parameter on the CRTLINX25 command. To report the problem, start problem analysis (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The data-set-ready error has occurred many times and caused a threshold error. Data-set-ready is presented by the data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE) to indicate that a connection to the remote DCE or data terminal equipment (DTE) has been established. If the DSR is in a condition that is not expected, it is said to be in error.
